About This Course

Inclusiv's Fundamentals of High-Impact Mortgage Lending course teaches credit union staff and board members about the basic concepts underlying mortgage lending programs, including topics such as risk pricing, alternative credit standards, third-party origination and servicing, secondary markets, and financial counseling.

This course is a totally self-paced alternative to the instructor-led High-Impact Mortgage Lending course. You will have 180 days to progress through the 5 modules, designed and produced by the Inclusiv team and punctuated with quizzes to assess your learning. There is no real-time or hands-on element to this course -- check out High-Impact Mortgage Lending for those benefits!

Who Should Register

The Fundamentals training is best for:

  • New mortgage loan officers (or processors/servicers)
  • Credit union board members
  • Credit union staff whose institutions do not have an existing mortgage program

If your credit union has an established mortgage program or you are a decision-maker interested in hands-on support for developing new loan products, we recommend you instead consider the High-Impact Mortgage Lending course.

Note:

  • This course covers the basics of inclusive mortgage lending and gives some guidance on how to develop products, but will not guide you through the process of starting a mortgage process from scratch
  • The course will NOT meet NMLS training requirements
  • This course will NOT cover compliance issues in-depth.
