How Credit Unions Are Partnering with the Louisiana Fortify Homes Program (LHFP)

The Louisiana Fortify Homes Program (LFHP), administered by the Louisiana Department of Insurance, provides grants of up to $10,000 to help homeowners fortify their homes.

To support the program, LHFP has partnered with local, mission-driven credit unions to help Louisiana homeowners who:

  • Applied for the LHFP Grant but need help understanding their financing options.
  • Received the LHFP Grant and need a  loan to cover remaining project costs.
  • Didn’t receive the LHFP Grant or are not pursuing a grant but would still like to explore safe and affordable financing options to fortify their homes.

Why a Credit Union?

At a credit union, you are not just another account, you are a member-owner. Credit unions are mission-driven, not-for-profit financial institutions owned by the people they serve, and they offer many of the same financial services as banks, including loans, checking and savings accounts.
